Hon. Tim Mulherin Death – Dead | Obituary – Passed Away
Tim Mulherin Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Tim Mulherin.
We lost a good one today. Tim Mulherin was a true Labor hero, as well as a tireless advocate for regional Queensland and his beloved Mackay during his long career.
He also played a crucial role as Annastacia Palaszczuk’s deputy during the Newman years in holding the LNP government to account and rebuilding Labor into a viable electoral force.
On a personal level, I’ve known him almost my entire life and will miss him greatly.
My thoughts are with his wife Erin and their three children. Rest in peace Tim.
The news this morning of the passing of Tim Mulherin is extremely sad.
We all knew he was battling cancer but his positivity put us off guard. It came as a real shock to learn early this morning that he was gone.
Tim will be remembered for a great many things in our community but at the top of the list for me is the fact that he was simply a good bloke.
His passion and commitment to Mackay was second to none.
No matter what your politics, he always did his best for the citizens who asked for his help.
I have known Tim for a very long time. He grew up in the western end of Kippen Street and my family home is in the eastern end.
Even though we appeared on opposite sides of the political fence from time to time, it didn’t matter to Tim. His focus was always on the best outcome for Mackay.
There’s a lifetime of community service that underpins who Tim Mulherin was.
Even before he was elected as Member for Mackay Tim was heavily involved in community affairs.
As the Member for 20 years and more recently as Chair of Mackay Hospital and Health Service, Tim has made a huge contribution to Mackay.
Over the last 5 years Tim was in touch regularly wanting to explore an idea, introduce someone who might help Mackay, or cook up a way to beat Townsville or Rocky at anything.
His devious laughter at a good plan will be sorely missed.
To Erin and the family we send our condolences, our love, and our thanks for sharing Tim with our community.
Vale Tim Mulherin
Rest In Peace Hon Tim Mulherin. The Mackay Show Association will be forever grateful for the support and assistance that Tim gave us to keep and develop our wonderful Showgrounds over the years. Our thoughts go out to his family during this time.
It is with great sadness that I mark the passing of my friend and colleague Tim Mulherin today. Tim was the epitome of what a public servant and leader should be – he served the people of Mackay and Queensland selflessly and passionately. Tim chose politics as a cause and a lifelong passion but his strength was his connection with people. He displayed his love for his beautiful wife Erin, the three boys and his large extended family in all that he did. Vale Tim Mulherin.
“A thought of that late death took all my heart for speech.”
It is with great sadness to hear the passing of our beloved club member Tim Mulherin.
Tim was a great supporter of Mackay hockey and especially enjoyed watching his 3 sons play.
He was a true gentleman who loved his family and loved the Mackay community.
We extend our condolences to Erin, Liam, Declan and Rory.
Tim will be sadly missed by everyone from Norths Hockey Club and all Mackay Hockey. Grand final days just won’t be the same with out him.
Very sad news out of Mackay this morning, with the passing of Tim Mulherin. A great @QLDLabor man with a big heart and even bigger love of family & community. Even in retirement, a tireless advocate for our regions. Go well, Tim. Proud to call you a mate.
