1 dead, 1 injured at Twain Avenue and Royal Crest Street auto-pedestrian accident
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 46-year old man has died of serious injuries suffered and another injured following an auto-pedestrian accident that happened around 4:39 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the intersection of Twain Avenue and Royal Crest Street, close to Twain and Paradise.
Two 46-year-old men were walking on foot westbound on Twain Avenue on the north sidewalk when Anthony Stewart, 44, who was driving a 1995 Chevy Silverado lost control of the car and swerved to the right side onto the sidewalk where the two men were walking. He continued driving on the westbound, spanning the sidewalk and roadway and finally ran into the two men before going back to the roadway.
One of the pedestrians who was struck, identified as Franklin McGraw, 46, survived the accident with minor injuries, while the other 46-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries and died at the scene of the crash.
Meanwhile, Stewart initially fled the scene and was later found by authorities and apprehended after displaying signs of impairment.
