2019 Questions and lessons.
Before i start tot tittle tattle, let me congratulate every winner and every loser in the election.
I will pick clue from a track of Enigma where she said

“Don’t be afraid to be weak
Don’t be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don’t hide
Just believe in destiny
Don’t care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don’t give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
That’s not the beginning of the end
That’s the return to yourself
The return to innocence
Don’t care what people say
Follow just your own way
Follow just your own way
Don’t give up, don’t give up”

So now lets discuss my gossip,
With the tempers raising and higher level of division being aroused in us as a reault of political party affiliation, an intelligent mind begins to wonder what is happening. In my own personal wondering a few points cross my mind and am happy these points came early before i may accidentally become a wonderer

As for my observations, they are as follows,
1
? Is our tempers raising because we are becoming more conscious of the doings of the political class

2
?Are we becoming more conscious of our “morally decomposed” social values. (morally decomposed means a morality that is repugnant just like a rottening carcase filled with maggot)

3
? Are we suddenly waking up to recognise our leadership state for what it is.
I know not which one reigns supreme or even if any of them is the right question or if they are my bling ignorance displaying itself before the public.
But thinking another way,i believe there is alot to learn from the lessons of the election.

First is that “the leadership of a society is a reflection of the cherished ideals within that society”
What this means is that, the leaders are not better or worse than the people, they are all the same kind of people.
It is a wise quote among people of integrity that
“A good people cannot tolerate a bad leadership and a bad people cannot tolerate good leadership”

This is so because if the people are good then it will be impossible for bad people to come and impose themself on the people and in the same vain,if the people are bad,it will be impossible for a good people to find their way into leadership offices.

Let us put this into perspective, lets assume that you, yes, you reading this peice is put into an office where much money passes through regurlaly. After your tenure, you go back to your normal private life without any flamboyant lifestyle or without buying all that money can buy. Would you agree with me that even people in your village will abuse you for being useless and having nothing to show after occuping an office where much money flows.
The reason they do this is because the prevalent atitude is that whenever you have access to money, take(steal) it and enrich yourself, all he rest people can die.
My point is that, our moral value is not diffrent from office holders and because there is so much to be made from the office, its a
” do or die affair”
If we reason a bit philosophical, they (the philosophers) tell us that until philosophers become kings or kings become philosophers, the world will never be prosperous. History has shown us that rarely does a philosopher ascend leadership office. The brutal and rugged men are the ones that find themselves into offices. Maybe genetically our warlike disposition Makes us respect the most brutal hence he becomes our hero and we crown him with the office. This was a standard way of chosing leaders in our past, history tells us that the heroes are uaually made kings. He is a hero, yes, but what makes him the hero is that he is able to slaughter the enermy in the battlefield.
“after God created people, you go and slaughter them and come back to become a hero in your village or town or country”
I doubt if man has come out of the bush,i do not know if we have but if we have then why do we still have this attitude in us.
How can one a man can leave his father, mother, family and friends and head to another place(nation) to slaughter people whom he barely knows or who did not hurt him personally, after wasting them,he will come back and be decorated with badges as a war hero. This means somewhere at the back of our minds,we take pride in killing ourself, sometimes i suspect that is a suicidal instinct embedded in our DNA,i cannot pretend to know who put it there but if i think my normal way then devil is my prime suspect, maybe after creation, somehow,he messed with our DNA. If not, what else can account for this baberic attitude we celebrate.
So in this case, the new hero is not a soldier in uniform of death, just like an angel of death(or maybe he is one),the new hero is our leader who has to crush his opponent with all brutality and ascend the throne.
Now if we divert alittle from the political herd, lets come close to our own life. How impartial have we been in offices that we manned.
In my school days,we know that in some schools, people die for SUG stuff, market master dies mysterioously, religious leaders die to occupy offices. Even in some faith,we have seen cases where anybody who climbs into an office dies within the shortest time invoking fear in all till the seat is then vacant and nobody aspiring to it again.
In broad daylight,we see religious leader talking nonsense left right and center. So where does politicking not play a role. A friend once told me of a religious institution where the leaders are chosen by election (my goodness God) …strange things are happening.
So back to our gossip,
The question is,
1
? Do we sincerly like what we see in the political class
2
? How diffrent are we from this attitude.
3
? If we dont like it,what constructive effort are we making to build our moral life.

Secondly, lessons from this
Before now,we were mainly divided on religious ground. A division caused by self rightousness and intolerance but now,the wound is gone deeper,we are now divided on political ground.
This is a trend that we need to correct so it does not fastrack our fall into a pit we dug for ourself.
We need to realise that poltics is a game where there will be winners and losers just like every other game. Life must be lived with tolerance, noobody is a saint hence we aught to accept other opinion which differ from ours. The other person can be wrong or right but lets tolerate him for the sake of peace and harmony. On another note,if you look at the issue party, there is really no need for anger at others because there are no clear cut idealogy guiding each of the various power blocks. The only way you will know where a politian belongs when he is talking is when he says negetive things about the other power blocks. Unlike in other parts of the world,eg in america, when a democrat is talking, without mentioning his party affiliation because everybody knows the democrats as the gentlemen who have soft policies and all that and everybody knows the republicans are the rude boys in whose policy there is no free lunch, where you must work hard for your earned sucex and the most rugged brutality will be given to you if you dare america.
So talking from this line, you will easily know where a person belongs, but here,it is like a jungle where only when he attacks, you know where he belongs.
I think we should allow the polititians play their game so we can have the energy to hustle out our cash too. Lets not take sides with them, let ignore their psychophantic followers who eat from their crumps to refill their ignorance, ignorance which will swell and impregnate them with stupidity throughout their wretched life except if they repent and accept Jesus and the truth.
I strongly believe they will repent shaa.

The solution to our challenge is not one we can solve in a few political administration,it is not even a thing we can solve in 5 generations. It is a process that will take ages but that should not prevent us from doing our best, each one of us has a role to play in this grand scheme of development. Each individuals effort at building his/her moral integrity is the key that will add its value and serve as a block in the builidng called Nigeria.
We can always build a better society,if we try,if we take the pain to do so.
Another important factor we need to understand is that “we are a good people”
We all in Nigeria are good irrespective of the attitude of anybody.
So be your best. Cheers to us all
