Three killed in Andrews ISD school bus accident near Big Spring, Texas identified
69-year-old Marc Elbert Boswell, of Andrews, Texas, 53-year-old Darin Kimbrogh Johns, of Andrews, Texas and 50-year-old Nathan Paul Haile, of Midland, Texas have been identified as the three victims that lost their lives in a double-car accident that happened on Friday afternoon, November 19, 2021 near Big Spring in Howard County, Texas.
According to report, the crash involving Andrews ISD school bus happened when Haile Nathan Paul Haile, of Midland who was driving a pickup truck on I-20 close to Big Spring crossed the centerlines into the opposite lanes and crashed head on with an Andrews ISD school bus conveying band students.
Following the head-on collision, Haile the pick up driver, Boswell the school bus driver and Johns who was a passenger in the bus all sustained serious injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Two students were flown with serious injuries to University Medical Center in Lubbock, eleven students were taken with non-life threatening injuries to Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring while 12 students were not hurt.
Johns was Andrews High School band director.
Investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
