The details of the incident began when the security services in Beni Suef received a report about the disappearance of two children, cousins: Muhammad Taha Muhammad, 12 years old, and Youssef Gouda Ahmed, 10 years old, from their family homes. Criminal investigations revealed that the wife of the father of the second child, Youssef, was behind their killing, after she planned and carried out her crime during the day and threw the bodies of the two children on the roof of the house. Because of disputes over inheritance, she went out to search with the villagers for the two children after they were reported missing, before she was arrested. In front of the security authorities, the accused, Amal M.K., 41, made her confessions, confirming that she married her husband's brother after his death, and that she had two children from her first husband who were twins.
She added: On the day of the incident, I decided to get rid of the two children (my husband’s son and my husband’s sister’s son), and I was at home and an hour before breakfast, I called them and asked them to have breakfast with me, and indeed they came half an hour before breakfast and I put poison for them in the food, but they refused at first, and said that they two fasting And she continued: After I pressured them to eat, and a few minutes later, the poison began to spread in their bodies, so I held their breath, and after making sure that they were dead, I carried their bodies and moved them to the roof of the house, closed the house and went to my family in the same village. When the news of their disappearance spread, I went out to search for them with the villagers. After their bodies were found, I was surprised by the police arresting me.
