Former Oregon Duck and Olympian Jim Grelle has died at the age of 83. Jim was the fourth American to break 4:00 in the mile and placed 8th in the 1500 at the 1960 Olympics. Jim set a record of (3:55.4), that was later broken in the 1965 Olympics, by Jim Ryun.
Friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Jim Grelle.
Jim Grelle was an early Oregon legend.

Former Oregon middle-distance star Jim Grelle passed away this weekend. He was an NCAA champion in 1959 at the mile and represented the United States at the 1960 Olympics in Rome. Our thoughts and support are with his family and friends. D.E.P
