He is the record holder of shooting down highest number of Israeli fighters in Arab-Israel war.

Sad news Bangladeshi decorated war hero group captain(Retd) Saiful Azam has passed away. He shot down 4 Israeli warplanes during Arab-Israel war,and I*dian jets during Indo-pak war.He was one of the founding members of Bangladesh Air force in 1971.

He has the unique distinction of having kills against airforces of two different countries and serving in four different air forces. As a young flying officer during the 65 Conflict, Saiful Azam managed to shoot down an IAF Gnat on Sept 18th.
