Cork Astronomy Club (@CorkAstronomy) tweeted about the passing away of Austin Hastings on Twitter June 30. Austin was the co founder of the club. he died on June 27 after a brief illness.
Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

Today, we honour a co-founder of the club, Austin Hastings who sadly passed away & to whose family we all extend our condolences. Austin was at the 1st meeting in 1978, was the 1st treasurer and for many years gave the Night Sky briefing. A lovely gentle man. Clear skies Austin.
