They had a 40-year history. Confidants. They helped each other spiritually, emotionally.
They had a short conversation, prayed the last rites. Fr. Peter left. My grandpa did shortly after. He was at peace. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Now they’re back together. RIP, Val.

Fr. Val Peter, a good man and a good priest, died this morning. He was the former head of Boys Town, and his dedication to all those he served was legendary. Well done, good and faithful servant.
