after the preparation of coffee was the monopoly of foreigners; As it was supervised by the hands of a non-Saudi barista, Saudi youth began to break into this field, mastering the use of distillation machines to manufacture specialized coffee, and participating in coffee competitions worldwide of different types and colors.

“My entry into this field was a coincidence, and I consider it an opportunity for self-exploration, as coffee brought together all kinds of people,” says the barista Abdulaziz Al-Shehri, who works in a specialized coffee shop in a coffee shop in Jeddah.

He added that the simple problem he faces with customers is that many of them do not know the difference between specialized coffee and other types, but he does not hesitate to explain specialized coffee to the patrons of the cafe, so that many of them ask him to see the prepared coffee and inhale its aroma to get to know it more, and after he tastes it. A customer of specialty coffee may change his mind about other types to take another curve in his choices, and with the passage of days he becomes one of the pioneers of the shop.

Al-Shehri continues: “Competitions are held around the world in specialty coffee and other various types of coffee, but my ambition is focused on participating in the espresso coffee preparation competition, as it is held every three months, and depends mainly on the body language of the coffee presenter, the way he delivers, the speed of work and cleanliness in the place. ».
