John Hume Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished John Hume.
Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.
It is deeply saddening to hear of the death of John Hume.
Life across the island of Ireland is peaceful and more prosperous today because of his courage, vision and determination. He guided away from violence and towards justice, tolerance and democracy.
John Hume takes his rightful place in the pantheon of leaders whose legacy is of creating a better world for the next generation.
My thoughts, and those of all in the labour movement, are with Pat, John, Mo and the Hume family.
I was saddened to hear of the death of former SDLP leader John Hume this morning.
John was a huge figure in Irish politics for many years and was known the world over for his peace making efforts.
He was a leader who worked tirelessly for the community and his beloved Derry.
His work alongside Gerry Adams in the Hume-Adams talks were instrumental in creating the space for developing and progressing the peace process which led to the Good Friday Agreement.
I send my condolences to his party colleagues and all those he worked with throughout the years. He will be sadly missed.
My thoughts are with his widow, Pat, his children, grandchildren, his entire family circle and all who knew him.

The influence one person can have on a place is often overstated. It is very, very difficult to overstate the effect John Hume had on Derry, and Northern Ireland, over decades and decades of service – much of it difficult, exhausting and thankless. He was, and is, a giant. RIP.
