John Meadows Mountain Dog Obituary – Death: A professional bodybuilder, trainer and nutritionist, John Meadows, aka “Mountain Dog” of Ohio has died. 49-year-old John Meadows died August 8, 2021. No cause of death was announced on his death.
“RIP to legend in the bodybuilding community John Meadows. I know that there is no definitive cause of death right now, but way too many guys (and women in some cases) who abused steroids/PEDs are dying early. Focus on being healthy people, the risks of this stuff ain’t worth it.”
In 2005, Meadows was diagnosed with a rare disease called idiopathic myointimal hyperplasia of the mesenteric veins. And in 2020, he suffered a heart attack caused by blood clots that caused him a long hospital stay. Doctors confirmed that part of his heart was not working properly after he recovered.
Meadows loves training and bodybuilding during her childhood. He also got involved in weight lifting. I have trained at the legendary Westside Barbell in Columbus, Ohio. I have pursued his goal of becoming a professional bodybuilder. That goal was achieved in the 2015 NPC Team Universe contest.
I can’t believe it…
He was my greatest inspiration, like the father I wished I had. So much knowledge, experience, and humbleness. RIP John Meadows, and thank you for everything. I’ll continue fighting for you.

Sad to hear of the passing of John Meadows.
I’m no bodybuilder but was very aware of the impact, knowledge and humility John brought in the industry. Always respected how he advocated health & safety before
aesthetics. Watched a lot of his contentHuge loss. R.I.P 👊🏿♥️

John Meadows was an absolute legend. He inspired the hell out of me when I started lifting and I learned a ton from him. Meadows Rows are among my favorite pull movements. He died way too soon. RIP
