Ray Wallace Death – Obituary: Former IU Southeast Chancellor Ray Wallace passed away due to recently announced health problems. Ray’s death was confirmed by the university on Thursday.

Ray Wallace was born in Northern Ireland. He came to the United States to attend Eastern Illinois University on an athletic scholarship. After completing his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees, he earned his Doctor of Arts degree in English from Illinois State University.

Wallace began his tenure at IUS on July 1, 2014 and resigned in July for health reasons. Wallace held various administrative positions, which prepared him well for IU Southeast campus leadership, including as president and senior vice president.

Prior to coming to IU Southeast, he held administrative and teaching positions at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Kennesaw State University, Northwestern Louisiana State University, Troy University, Clayton State University and the University of Arkansas-Fort Herrero.
