This is heartbreaking… it appears that the incredible Mr. Craig Henderson has passed today. He has touched the hearts and lives of myself and so many that have gone through his pageants and who have even just had the opportunity to cross paths with him… Rest In Peace, Craig It was always a dream of mine since I started pageantry to be one of Craig’s titleholders, and now it’s extremely bittersweet, but I am so extremely proud to be his reigning Miss Montrose USofA at Large… thank you so much Craig for believing in me from the very beginning and always telling me that you saw something in me. It helped me to believe in myself more than you know.
During my inspection, I got calls and texts one of my best friends passed away! Craig Henderson and I would talk every Thursday! We would talk every holiday, birthday, pageant and each show one of us had. He has been one of my best friends since I was 15. Always asking if I got my ranch and calling him Craigory. I am going to miss you so much, my friend. My heart is completely broken. Thank you for being so good to me and all the boys all the time. Usually, you are the guy I call to cry with losses with. I’m going to miss you. Please don’t call asking about what happened and just send his family all your love Now I have to go to Houston for sure and have you there with me in spirit.
I met my dear friend Craig Henderson in the summer of 1995 by my then Boss Raphael Velasco De Ruiz, owner of the Orginal Saint on Main Ave. our conversation that night was one I can never forget. A conversation that would last so many more years to come. Craig and I became so close as friends that he trusted me with his business at times and would always value my opinion in whatever he needed assistance with. A friendship that would last over 25 years. Friday night didn’t feel the same at the pageant and now, nothing will. But we, as a Texas Community, need to continue his legacy for he is the reason we all gathered in August every year. Now he joins all his girls for a Grand Heavenly Celebration! It makes me sad that he didn’t get to see his 35th Anniversary of Miss Gay Texas USofA but we all know he was there in spirit. He will definitely be missed and we all Love You Craig-Ann
Praying for Miss Annette Hull and her family during the loss of her son Craig Henderson, Craig is the person that put me on the National Pageant platform stage, it all started when he asked me to host Miss Gay Texas USofA, which lead to me hosting Miss Gay USofA neither Pageant have I won, which shows that your gift will make room and open doors for you if only given a chance. I host Miss Gay San Antonio USofA, this year thanks to my good friend and sister Amber Nixx Armendariz, I rode to the pageant with Craig and his mom, because we stayed at the same hotel, didn’t know this would be our last time together. R.I.P. CRAIG ANN, MISS GAY TEXAS USofA CEO.
