Anthony Wilson was born on October 8, 1947 in Trinidad. He began his musical career at the age of 16. He was a member of the group Soul Brothers. Founding member of Hot Chocolate, he left the group in 1976.

He is credited with persuading Hot Chocolate lead singer Errol Brown to write his songwriting ideas. He co-wrote the Hot Chocolate hits “Love Is Life”, “Emma”, “Brother Louie” and “You Sexy Thing”.
