Dan Barber Newton KS -Death – Daniel “Dan” Ray Barber, 40, passed away November 14, 2021, at his home in Newton, Kansas surrounded by his family. He was born December 24, 1980, in Cushing, Oklahoma, the son of Carl Ray Barber and Belinda Crumrine-Anderson. Dan attended Newton High School, graduating with the class of 98-99. He later attended Hutchinson Community College, receiving his associate degree in business management. He was well known for his service and contributions to society and was also known for his deep love for kids. He was a very good man with the most beautiful heart. He will be greatly missed.

He is a native of Tryon, Oklahoma, he was employed as a supervisor at Ember Hope in Newton. He was passionate about his work and loved having the opportunity to help kids. He loves sport, XBOX and Playstation. He was a supporter of the Lakers, Sooners, Yankees, and the Patriots. Dan was a huge WWE Wrestling fan, passing his love and knowledge of all things wrestling to his daughter, Tatum. While he enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, he loved even more being part of a team. He played almost every sport known to man and was currently a short stop on the Backdoor Sliders softball team, helping them win several tournaments and league championships. Dan loved horror and comic-based movies, bright and bold fashion (especially shoes), and looking for any occasion to play music loudly. He was also very active in the community and looked for any way he could help or show support locally.

He was a father, a brother, a son, a mentor, and a good friend. He built his life around his daughter, Tatum, and was her biggest supporter and cheerleader. He is survived by his daughter, Tatum Barber; mother and step-father, Belinda and Joe Anderson; brothers, Anthony Barber and Jeremy Barber; nieces, Katie and Kassie Barber; grandmother, Sally Montgomery; his work and softball family; and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the First Christian Church, 102 E. 1st (corner of 1st and main) in Newton, Kansas. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.. Following Dan’s wishes, a family graveside service will take place at a later date in Cushing, Oklahoma.
