A spokesman for the Ministry of Transport, Advisor to the Minister, Yasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Misfir, denied what was circulated in a local newspaper about the news of the Ministry of Transport's intention to impose a symbolic tariff on the use of roads starting from the year 2020 AD, and to determine the value of fees for road use, and attributed false statements by the minister.
He confirmed in a press statement to the Saudi Press Agency that the issue of road tolls is still under study until it is completed and is not about to be implemented even in 2020, as stated by the Minister of Transport, Dr. Nabil Al-Amoudi, in an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper last September.
And he indicated that the Ministry of Transport reserves its full right to take legal measures against anyone who publishes false information or offends the Ministry in accordance with the applicable regulations in the Kingdom.
