A new feature in the popular messaging application, WhatsApp, has entered into force, allowing users to send and receive messages without the need for a smartphone connected to the Internet.

Previously, the user had to keep the primary phone that holds the account number in “WhatsApp” connected to the Internet in order to be able to conduct conversations in the application via computers and tablets. It operates on the “iOS” and “Android” systems, according to what was revealed by the “gsmarena” technical website last Friday.

With this feature, there will be restrictions for users of devices running on the iOS system, as they will not be able to delete messages and conversations from the second device, but one of the most prominent features of this feature is that it will benefit people who lose their smartphones and at the same time need to communicate through the application « WhatsApp”, or if the phone battery is dead.

To activate this feature, the user must go to the (Linked Devices) option, then choose the feature that still bears the status of “Multi-Device Beta”. Once activated, the phone will be disconnected from all previous devices, and after that, he will be able to resume Chat on devices whether the smartphone is connected to the Internet or not. The devices will continue to send and receive messages for 14 days continuously, after the internet is cut off from the smartphone.
