National Housing (NHC) obtained, for the third time in a row, the Certificate of Local Content and Government Procurement for the fiscal year 2021, which amounts to 54%. National Housing has also succeeded in raising the status of local content, as the proportion of locally manufactured materials has reached about 92% in National Housing projects.
The National Housing support for local content comes through several important axes, including enabling the private sector to develop real estate, employing and qualifying national cadres, and localizing industry in the real estate sector, with the aim of supporting national industries in the field of construction and development of supply chains, which will reflect positively on diversifying sources Income and non-oil GDP growth.
National Housing has contributed to enriching the real estate market through qualitative and giant projects that have made a remarkable difference in the development of social and economic life in the Kingdom. These projects inaugurate the largest housing project in the Kingdom, “Al-Fursan Suburb” and the second phase of the Khuzam Suburb.
In light of the constant endeavor to support local content and localize industries, National Housing launched the “Mawad” platform, which contributed to supporting local content with more than 33 local companies, with the aim of linking contractors and real estate developers with the approved manufacturer or supplier.
National Housing also contributes to enhancing local content and achieving the strategic objectives of the housing program in Vision 2030, which helped create many job opportunities in this vital sector that exceeded 40,000 jobs, either directly or indirectly in the company's business and projects. It also sought to provide a program “Wa’ed” for training fresh graduates, which contributes to developing future talents and qualifying them for the labor market professionally.
The National Housing Authority praises the efforts of the Local Content Authority in developing content and giving it priority in the government competition and procurement system, in addition to supporting promising local opportunities.
It is noteworthy that the National Housing is the pioneer and enabler of the real estate supply system and the largest major developer of suburbs and residential communities that are characterized by quality of life and aims to increase the real estate supply, to contribute to the development of the national economy, diversify sources of income and lead the Kingdom to occupy a leading position in global development, in addition to its endeavor to contribute to the achievement of goals The Kingdom’s Vision 2030 is to raise the proportion of home ownership for Saudi families to 70%.
