It is with great sadness that we have heard that Rachel Kachaje, Founder and Executive Director of Disabled Women in Africa – DIWA
passed away. Rachel was a leader, a pioneer in the fight for the rights of women with disabilities. Before many, she knew women with disabilities had to organize themselves to be represented, in a world of patriarchy and ableism. She created DIWA and was a key person within the African Disability Forum -ADF. A strong voice. An inspiration for feminists of all kind. Rest in peace, dear sister.
