Shout out to my cousin, Mireya Rodriguez Lemus, she was an LBGTQ+ activist in Chihuahua Mexico who is now dead. Her murder is one of many that happen in Chihuahua against trans and queer people. Rest In Peace my love ❤️💕(they are my cousin because we have the same name but we never met and our families don’t know each other, but i see everyone as being part of my “family” and this person happens to literally be my distant cousin/ relative because we have the same last name)

National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women (Conavim) condemns the murder of activist
Mexico City.- The Chihuahuense Institute of Women reported on the unfortunate death, under violent circumstances, of Mireya Rodriguez Lemus, transgender activist and leader of the Union and Force of Trans Chihuahuan Women’s Trans-Chihuahuan Women; his work steered the fight for the visibility of transgender people as well as defending and recognizing their rights.
Conavim publicly and unequivocally recognizes the work of those who defend human rights in Mexico, so today more than ever we must follow the work for the equal rights of women, men and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transgender, transvestite, intersex and queer (LGBTTTIQ), to have a life free of violence.
It also calls for a serious, professional, transparent and gender-sensitive investigation that guarantees the clarification of facts so that this crime does not go unpunished.
In this regard, Conavim will follow the work to protect and guarantee the rights of all and all to have a life free of violence.

Mireya Rodríguez Lemus was murdered on Wednesday in her home in Chihuahua City, Mexico. She is one of the many transgender people that have been killed this year for embracing her identity and advocating for others like her.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased
