Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

Lou Brock was one of the finest men I have ever known.
Coming into this league as a 21-year-old kid, Lou Brock was one of the first Hall-of-Fame players I had the privilege to meet. He told me I belonged here in the big-leagues. He was always willing to help and to share his unlimited knowledge of hitting and the game of baseball with me as a young player. Most importantly, he showed us all how to live our lives on and off the field with character and integrity. 1975 winner of the Roberto Clemente Award, Lou always understood his role in giving back to his community. He was a Godly man who lead his family with Christian principals and love.
He was a dear friend to me. I loved him very much. My prayers are with Jackie and the Brock family tonight.
Lou now enters into the glory of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
You will be missed, my brother. Until we meet again.

The passing of Lou Brock brings back memories of a man who inspired a generation of African American kids.
I was sad to hear about the passing of Lou Brock. To me he was more than just a baseball player he was an inspiration for a community. Lou Brock was one of those giants who showed young inner city Black kids that there was no limit to how far they could go.
It was always thrilling to watch him play and cheer him on
Back in those days we knew what African Americans were up against who broke thru glass ceilings.
It was alway thrill to watch the Black players who excelled.
They made us all proud. It was like showing the world what Black folks were capable of doing.
He was one of those who likely influenced a generation of budding young Black athletes to become baseball players. Baseball would later see an era of al lot of Black players largely because of the success of people like Lou Brock.
He was always out in the community going to events in the inner city inspiring a a lot of youngsters.
Lou Brock made a huge difference in my community with kids looking for positive role models people who were doing life in a big way and who made us all proud.
Lou Brock was a larger than life figure that meant so much to so many.
Lou Brock made a difference. That’s a lot to say for one lifetime.

For the 2nd time this week the Sports world mourns the loss of one of her true giants – St. Louis Cardinals legend, Lou Brock has died at 81. Brock is another sports figure that displayed true integrity both on and off the field. He was a first ballot Hall of Famer in Baseball and one of the greatest base stealers of all time. Earlier this week, another Hall of Famer, Tom Seaver passed away. Ironically, in their careers, Seaver pitched to, or faced Lou Brock more times than any other single hitter during his 20 year career and Seaver was the pitcher that Brock faced more times during his 19 year career. They both leave us during the same week. They both leave us with lasting memories of their greatness on and off the field, showing exemplary character that we long for in our sports heroes. 2020 has taken so much from us this year. It’s truly sad that here in the last 7 days, 2020 has taken two of our greatest baseball icons.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
