Mason Hughes, a native of Derry, Pennsylvania, and the late John Hughes’s cherished son, tragically passed away earlier this month. Mason’s sparkling smile and exuberant laugh will be remembered by all who knew him. Mason cherished and cared for everyone that entered his life. He cherished his family above everything else; they were his greatest delights.
Derry is a borough located 45 miles east of Pittsburgh in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Derry Township, which is a separate municipality surrounding the borough, should not be confused with the Borough of Derry, which consists of the town area. At the time of the 2020 census, the population was 2,540.
