Amfilohije Radović Death – Dead |  Metropolitan Bishop Amfilohije Radović Obituary – Passed Away

Amfilohije Radović Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Amfilohije Radović.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

Metropolitan Amfilohije Radović of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church reposed in the Lord today at the age of 82 from pneumonia after a battle with COVID-19.

While the Serbian people and Serbian American Leadership Conference mourn, we equally glorify the symbolism of his passing. Under the spiritual leadership of Metropolitan Amfilohije, the people of Montenegro were finally able to free themselves from the forces of tyranny and oppression after a long, arduous battle. Attempting to do what seemed to be the impossible, Metropolitan Amfilohije led the symbolic procession of Montenegro’s traditional, cultural, and spiritual reawakening.

Ultimately, the battle against tyranny drained even the strongest of men, but Metropolitan Amfilohije now stands alongside the other heroic Serbs who have given their lives for the freedom of our people. It is this symbolism that we allude to. Metropolitan Amfilohije died so that Montenegro and the Serbian people may live!

May Metropolitan Amfilohije’s memory be eternal, and may his contribution to the salvation of our people be remembered and exemplified by future generations of Serbs and Serbian Americans.

Вјечан помен и слава нашем Митрополиту Амфилохију. Вјечнаја памјат!

His Eminence, Bishop Amfilohije Radović, fell asleep in the Lord on 30 October 2020 in the Clinical Center of Montenegro in Podgorica.
He was a bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church. He was first the Bishop of Banat between 1985 and 1990, and then the Metropolitan Bishop of Montenegro and the Littoral from 1990, until his death. As the metropolitan bishop, he was the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro. He was one of the most influential leaders of the Serbian Church, and was twice among the three candidates for the Serbian Patriarch (in 1990 when Pavle was selected, and in 2010 when Irinej became patriarch).
May his memory be eternal!
