Rainbow Six Siege continues to evolve non-stop, with Ubisoft reaffirming its commitment to planning for the next two years of the multiplayer game. The game is best in class when it comes to live content, whether it's regular seasons or free content updates. It did not stop here, but is also preparing to come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Game director Leroy Athanasov told Windows Central that the development team of hundreds of employees has begun allocating resources to next-generation hardware. Ubisoft hopes to release Rainbow Six Siege on PS5 and XB SX in conjunction with the hardware release of the 2020 holiday season.

To avoid community fragmentation throughout the transition, the game will support multiplayer with legacy platforms. Meaning if you play on PlayStation 5, you will be able to play with someone using PlayStation 4.
