The National Cybersecurity Indicative Center of the National Cybersecurity Authority issued a high-risk security warning regarding vulnerabilities in the Google Chrome browser.

The center revealed that Google has issued an update to address a number of vulnerabilities in the Chrome browser for Windows, Mac and Linux systems.

He pointed out that the threats are represented in enabling the attacker to exploit the vulnerabilities and perform the following: failure to validate user inputs, execution of malicious software, and overflow of the temporary memory buffer.

With regard to preventive measures, the center recommended updating the browser to version 96.0.4664.93, as Google issued an explanation for the necessary update via the following link: https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2021/12/stable-channel-update-for-desktop. html, indicating that the browser supports automatic updating to the latest available version.

The center stated that the way to update is as follows: Open “Chrome”, then at the top left of the screen click on More > Help > About Google Chrome, explaining that the current version number is the set of numbers below the word “Google Chrome”, then Chrome will search for Updates and it will update automatically, then click on restart.
