The “Madina Bikers” motorcycle team, consisting of 52 members, was able to change the negative perception of motorcycle enthusiasts, turning it from a careless and irresponsible hobby into a committed sport with a purpose and meaning.
The idea was launched by Talib Al-Juhani, when he decided to form a motorcycle team in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah with the aim of educating the public about this unique sport and delivering a positive message about it to people.
Mohammed Al-Tohamy, deputy head of the team, said: “One of the main goals of the team is to convey a good impression of driving motorcycles and adhere to safety methods when driving. Our role is the correct definition of our hobby.” And he added, “One of the team’s goals is to educate cyclists on the need to use safety tools when riding a bike, to convey a positive image to society about motorcyclists, and to consider motorcycle riding a sport like all other sports, in addition to educating cyclists with courses on safe driving.” Participation in charitable work, national events, creativity and continuous development.
He added, "Our hobby involves hardship, and our role is to face negative criticism caused by irresponsible people, but we got out of this tunnel with official participation, international trips and festivals, whether in the Gulf or Europe, in addition to participation in local and national events."
The team has many hopes and aspirations, which they summarized in our conversation with them, “caring for the youth group and investing their energies in useful hobbies, especially sports hobbies that keep them away from deviation and societal neglect.” He published several aspirations that they dream of achieving, namely, “that this hobby be under an official umbrella, because motorcycles are expensive and even maintenance is expensive.” He also demanded that “there be dedicated and safe roads that take into account safety regulations and the presence of places in all regions, as there is only the” Al-Reem Circuit In Riyadh, only the velvet class enters it. The presence of a public place under the auspices of partners or support from the General Authority for Youth and Sports, we consider it support and support for us as amateurs.
Al-Tohamy indicated that they worked to activate the advantage of teamwork and active participation, as they assigned a task to each member in the administrative and financial department, in the security and safety department, the marketing and advertising department, and the public relations department, as well as the continuous field education department (which is the special section in organizing cycling motorcycles on the road).
