It is with great sadness that Football Alberta reports the death of former Harry Ainlay coaching legend Bryan Anderson.

Coach Anderson was an educator and the Head Coach of the football program at Harry Ainlay for over 30 years concluding in 1997.

Over that time he set a standard of coaching in the Edmonton Public league that saw him take his football and basketball teams to 38 championship games.

Anderson was also one of the fathers of ASAA Provincials; along with Larry Wilson, Gary DeMan, and Cliff Walters, he brought football into the ASAA fold in 1985.

Following his teaching career, he served as a City of Edmonton Councillor for 17 years and was the driving force behind the explosion of artificial turf fields in the city.
