Chris Wall died last night in hospice care at St. David’s Medical Center South after a lengthy battle with cancer. Many thanks to the ICU staff for providing excellent care, while treating this wonderful man with respect, dignity and kindness. We mourn the loss of a poet, songwriter and musician, but most of all, he was our family and friend. Chris was a lover of our National Parks, especially Yellowstone and Glacier in his beloved Montana. Please consider making a memorial donation in his name to support them. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. He is already greatly missed.
Chris Wall will be greatly missed. Chris was a major part of the early Texas music scene and he influenced so many artists, may he rest in peace.
In an interview earlier this year I was asked to name my Top 5 favorite albums. On that list was “Cowboy Nation” by Chris Wall. We lost Chris today. This incredible poet, singer-songwriter will be greatly missed. I was honored when he would join us on stage at the legendary Broken Spoke and so glad one of those times that he sang one of the more well-known songs he pinned is captured on video. RIP, Chris.
RIP Chris Wall (left) longtime dear friend, awesome songwriter & performer Albert Dance Hall, Albert, TX. Fall Tour, 2010. Always loved making music & talking baseball with Chris. More than a few times people would ask if Chris and I were actual brothers. Although neither Chris nor I could see the resemblance, we got a real good laugh outta that. LOL !! In a strong sense of our closeness, we were. It is an honor and blessing to have been close friends with Chris.
