We get the very sad and terrible news that our great friend ′′ Dima ′′ (Dmitry Svetushkin) has passed away today.
A friend we enjoyed and he did his own every start of the year in our town. He left us postcards bathing in the rocket waters in the middle of winter. Always a gentleman on and off the board. One of the champions, who will always be remembered in the heart of all of us who do the Open de Roquetas.No doubt today is a very sad day for chess. We want to give our deep condolences to Dima’s family, friends and companions.

Svetushkin, 2010 Moldova champion, was a key member of his country’s National team. R.I.P. Dmitry Svetushkin (1980-2020). I was lucky to meet him in 2017 when he honored with his presence the 6th Anogia International Tournament which he won with 7,5/9. GM Dmitry Svetushkin, a great chess player, game theoretical and coach, a man with a wide range of interest left yesterday self-as everything seems – this world and was only 40 years old…
