The head of the Generation Party, the general coordinator of the National Coalition of Egyptian Political Parties, Naji al-Shihabi, denounced that an extremist had burned a copy of the Noble Qur’an in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, on “Saturday,” calling on the Arab and Islamic peoples to boycott Danish goods and products. Because it is a powerful weapon that the West understands, and it harms the economy of that country that dared to violate the Book of God and repeatedly burned the Qur’an.

Al-Shihabi added to “Okaz”: The issue of burning the Qur’an by the West is a deliberate matter, which reveals to us a clear hostile desire to provoke the feelings of Muslims. The government of Denmark, under false slogans, talks about freedom of opinion, expression and publication, and forgets the contempt of religions and the burning of the Holy Qur’an, which cannot be under freedom of opinion and expression, especially as it is a repeated act within its lands, stressing that international law imposes respect for the heavenly religions.

The head of the Egyptian Generation Party continued: The repetition of such provocative actions fuels feelings of hatred, incites violence, and threatens the security and stability of societies. He added that burning the Holy Qur’an is a heinous crime against Muslim human rights, punishable by international law and contrary to human and moral values and principles, calling on the international community and international human rights organizations to confront such barbaric acts and prevent insulting the divine religions.
