Ella French Obituary Englewood Chicago – Death: Chicago police officer Ella French, 29, was killed and another was fatally wounded during an exchange of gunfire with a suspect at a traffic stop Saturday in the South Side neighborhood of West Englewood.

She was shot and killed in the line of duty.
One of the suspects who opened fired to the officers was caught by police with the help of neighbors, who were having a barbecue when the shooting took place.
“So yes, while we all acknowledge that Ella French’s death was also tragic and unnecessary, it would serve you better to never compare the lost of one life to the lost of another. Especially when one was there to willingly put their life on the line, and the other was an innocent.”
Ella died at the scene. The other officers were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center while the injured suspect was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
