With allowing the return of cinema to the Kingdom, and the start of issuing licenses for those wishing to open theaters starting from the beginning of the current year 2018, the world of filmmaking has become the talk of councils among all those interested in culture and the arts, especially since cinema is a fine art, and a wide window on different cultures. In this context, a number of female film directors have left an important and indelible mark on the Saudi film industry, such as: Haifa Al-Mansour, Samira Aziz, Ahd Kamel, Hind Al-Fahd, and others. The films of many Saudi female directors won international awards abroad in the past years, during the period when cinematic shows were not allowed in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi director was able to force society and fans of the “seventh art” to discuss the issues of rightful women, aspiring to remove many of the injustices that befell her, along with the men who raise her issues. And now that cinemas have been allowed to open in the Kingdom, everyone is waiting for the role that women will play in this field, whether they are directors, producers, actresses or screenwriters, or even viewers and go to theaters with the rest of their families, and the extent to which they will be able to impose their interests, concerns and issues on others. This art strongly returns to the arena of enlightenment, education and entertainment in the Kingdom.
