A murder investigation is underway after a Detective Garda was shot dead last night in Castlerea, Co Roscommon.
He’s been officially named as Detective Garda Colm Horkan – a native of Charlestown in Co Mayo.
Detective Horkan was shot at a number of times with his own weapon.
