Hollis Murphy Death – Obituary: It is with an extremely heavy heart we announce the passing of a New Orleans legend. Hollise was a ball of energy who brightened up any place or situation with his presence and was one of the Big Boss’ idols and someone he was always ecstatic when getting approval from him in any way. Hearing that he liked the Big Boss’ custom shirt designs was one of the happiest moments in the Big Boss’ short life so far and is absolutely devastated at this loss. Rest In Peace brother you will be missed dearly

I was saddened to read this morning that Hollis Murphy had escaped this place last night. I know the amount of good times and smiles you had is innumerable. You did it your way and that what counts. R.I.P. Hollis…
Hollise Murphy, I can’t believe it. RIP I have known Hollise since I was like 16 years old. We have shared so much fun, playing shows, going shows. The nicest person I ever met and the most positive energy out there to experience every show and music and the love and dedication it took to continue to play music and see every show out there. Hollis Murphy knew every band, local, touring, unknown and heavy, metal, fast, loud. Seriously you the most exciting musical friend I ever met that had more love for every band and the scene of New Orleans people and music. You laugh and your positive energy was out of this world and New Orleans is a little more empty without you. You were probably that link to every musical person in New Orleans. You are the true story of someone who lives and did what he loved %100. Your mark on all of us in New Orleans and from afar will not be go unnoticed. You loved and accepted all. I’ll always cherish those times hung out and conversations on music and life. I’ll miss your hugs and seeing your face around town. Seriously the best !!!! I will never forget all the great times and when we were kids. You use to throw me on your shoulders in the mosh pit I remember all the slam dancing and seeing your happy face in the pit!! I remember so many shows, so many good times. This guy always had the time for everyone. I will never forget being a teenager in bands playing music with you and jumping around at shows and having the best fun in the world. I’ll never forget your band and the fact you some of the few in New Orleans that have stuck out for so many years. New Orleans has lost a legend !!! I can only say I was lucky and thankful for all the years and good times
