In 2016, a group of Front Runners were blessed to spend the morning with the amazing Ms. Ida at the Harlem Run Mile. Just two years before in 2014, we watched the Harlem native break the 100 meter world record for 99 year olds at the Gay Games Cleveland, one of many World Records she has held.
She was and continues to be an inspiration who took up running at the young age of 67! We just got news that Ms. Ida passed away yesterday, August 28 at the young age of 106. Please consider joining Harlem Run at 7pm August 30, for their Monday Night Run at Marcus Garvey Park, to help celebrate her legacy!

Many years ago my parents invited a few college students to live with us. One of those was Shelly who has been a force in my life ever since. I learned today her mom passed away. If you want to read something inspirational about Ida . She was a force
