Jeanie Hackett Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Jeanie Hackett.
Jeanie Hackett was an amazing actor, producer, director, teacher – and a mentor to many. She was a force of joy and cared deeply about her students and her theatre community. she died on June 27 from lung cancer.
Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.
Heartbroken is not even the right word to express how I feel right now… But also incredibly Grateful and Happy to know this woman – my acting teacher Jeanie Hackett. She truly believed in me and my talent. She was fascinated by Chekhov and Russian culture and looked outside of politics, separating two countries. Full of energy, enthusiasm, and kindness. This picture was taken last year when she was writing her play Three Sisters Part II. Despite the disease, her spirits were always up, she even put together The Cherry Orchard reading through Zoom only a month ago. True inspiration. I’m deeply saddened to not have you around @purejeanie but I know that the stars are more beautiful now because you’ve joined them.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend & longtime collaborator Jeanie Hackett. She directed our award-winning recording of Kindertransport & performed in Steel Magnolias, Trifles, & more. She was a dedicated teacher & a gifted artist. She will be greatly missed.

We are very sad to hear of the passing of Jeanie Hackett, a beloved member of the L.A. theater community and dear friend of the Circle. Among her many contributions as an actor, director and teacher, she was also instrumental in making our 50th awards gala the classy, successful event it was. We’d like to express our condolences to her family and friends. She will be very missed.
We were deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our former Artistic Director Jeanie Hackett. Jeanie led the company through some enormous transformations and we will be forever grateful. She founded the Antaeus Academy which helped launch the careers of some of our best artists, oversaw the Company as we began producing full and regular seasons, directed the world premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation of Cousin Bette to much acclaim, and foresaw a future for the company that without her enormous tenacity we would not have achieved. We send her husband Young Ji and her family our deepest sympathies.

We lost Jeanie Hackett the passionate, dedicated theatre artist today. I am honored to have been her colleague and grateful to have been her friend. It’s simply heartbreaking – and hard to fathom this loss to our artists community let alone how devastating it will be for her beloved @Young Ji. In the midst of the sadness it is beautiful to read all the posts from her circle capturing Jeanie’s passion and impact. May her Muse be eternal.
