Jo Alaphilippe, Julian’s father, the French cyclist of the Deceuninck-Quick Step team, passed away this Sunday.
Sick for several years, Jo Alaphilippe had found the strength to go to the Tour de France last year, as her son had covered himself in yellow and took France from his achievements.

Jo was coming sick. Even, last year on the Tour de France, he visited his son in a wheelchair, something that always encouraged Alaphilippe.
Last year, Julian was chosen by Velo magazine as the best cyclist of the season, over Colombian Egan Bernal and Slovenian Primoz Roglic.
