Joseph Janowski from Vernon, NY, owner of Bayberry Plaza has died on Saturday 18th of September 2021, after a brief illness.
Short Bio
Janowski attended college at age 16, he graduated in 1963 from the Albany School of Pharmacy.
In 1968, Joseph purchased his first pharmacy. He went on to open a number of pharmacies in New York and Florida. Janowski continued to maintain his pharmaceutical licenses in New York and Florida for the rest of his life.
Since 1975, he had owned the Recreo Medicated Powder Company in Liverpool.
Janowski was named “Business Man of the Year” by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce in 2007. Following his Polish heritage, he served as an American Director of the LLC Poland Foundation in Williamsport, PA.
Janowski was also a golfer and 25-year member of the Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club in Cicero. Janowski was an avid SU sports fan. He loved the Yankees, Buffalo Bills, and a good tailgate party. He enjoyed horse racing and owned race horses.
He loved his family and spending time with them most of all. They would spend winters in Florida, summers at the shore, and would travel through Europe.

Calling hours will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home, 3401 Vickery Road, North Syracuse.
A funeral mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse.
