Rest In Power Kakedius Reid! Black Trans Lives Matter and we will have no liberation until Black Trans people are free.

So often, our community has to mourn those taken from us while also getting the attention of publications so we can be properly remembered. KaKedius “Rebel” Reid was a Black trans man from Georgia. He was an artist, performer, and a father.

We know so many Black trans men have invisible struggles, because the world doesn’t make space to discuss the pain of Black trans men. We hope you had the peace you were looking for, Rebel.
You deserved so much more than this. #KaKediusReid

KaKedius Reid, a Black trans man, was killed this past weekend. If we are serious about #BlackLivesMatter, if we are outraged about #JacobBlake or #DijonKizzee , you cannot be apathetic about KaKedius or #TonyMcdade.
May he rest in peace

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
