Newbury Man Missing Since about 1:30 a.m. Saturday Has Been Found Dead By Detectives
Authorities Identified a body at Newburyport at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Sunday; it’s said to be the one of Kevin Mahoney 33 who went missing in the early hours of Saturday, July 31, 2021.
His body was found in the water near Newburyport’s North End Boat Club. State Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.
His girlfriend made a report to officials at the early hours of Saturday saying Kevin was last seen Saturday around 1:30 a.m. The Newbury resident was wearing a salmon-colored golf/polo shirt, khaki shorts, and tan boat-style shoes.
Kevin Mahoney Cause Of Death
No cause of death confirmed yet, as no health issues or other causes of death have been learned to be associated with the passing.
This death has caused a lot of friends and family of Mahoney so much hurt. It is in that mourning spirit that the concerned persons have taken to social media to share tributes to the deceased and condolences to the affected family.

NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray and the Newburyport Police Department would like to share an update on the search for a missing man.
At approximately 5:20 p.m., a body believed to be that of Kevin Mahoney, age 33, of Newbury was located in the water near the North End Boat Club.
A coordinated search and rescue effort was conducted today by The U.S. Coast Guard, Massachusetts Environmental Police, Massachusetts State Police, Newburyport Police Department, Newburyport Fire Department and Newburyport Harbormaster.
“I would like to thank everyone who assisted in the search efforts,” said Marshal Murray. “At this time, I would like to send my condolences to Mr. Mahoney’s family, friends, and loved ones.”
On Saturday, July 31 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a woman reported to police that Mahoney had not been seen since early that morning.
The woman told police that Mahoney had been seen near the intersection of Water and Federal streets in Newburyport late Friday night/shortly after midnight Saturday and was then last seen by a member of the North End Boat Club, located at 282 Merrimac St. walking outside the club building at approximately 1:30 a.m. He was last seen in the driveway near the docks of the boat club, and his cell phone and backpack were found aboard a boat owned by Mahoney’s family, which is docked at the club.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Newburyport Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police assigned to Essex District Attorney’s Office. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner of death.

33 year Kevin Mahoney of Newbury is missing.
He was up at the North End Boat Club on Merrimac Street.
He was seen walking up the driveway of the club at 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning but that’s the last sighting of him.
His family owns a boat at the club.
His backpack and phone were phones on that boat, which was tied up at the dock.
Prior to the club he was seen walking at Water and Federal streets in Newburyport sometime before or after midnight
