I pay tribute to the great American pianist and conductor Leon Fleisher, who died on August 2. A pupil of the legendary Arthur Schnabel, known for having lost the use of his right hand for a while, he will shine by performing, in particular, the famous Concerto pour la main gauche by Ravel.

Leon Fleisher. An amazing virtuoso, sidelined by a rare neurological disorder who made a late comeback aided by advances in medicine. Rediscovered himself as a teacher until he could play again 40 years after his diagnosis. Passed away at 92.
