On July 22, 2021, at 3:59 AM, the decedent, Marcus A. Coblentz, 25 y/o male from Sugarcreek, Ohio, was the operator of a bicycle, traveling with three other bicyclists, and traveling east on U.S. 22. A 2011, Chevrolet Cruze, traveling east on U.S. 22, collided with the bicyclists.
The decedent was separated from his bicycle and suffered multiple blunt force injuries. Deputy Coroner Joshua C. Zappone pronounced the decedent dead at the scene. The decedent is believed to have been wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. An autopsy was performed on this date. The cause of death has been determined to be blunt force injuries to the head and torso. The manner of death has been ruled accidental. Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks. Miller Funeral Care of Millersburg, Ohio will be in charge of arrangements. Murrysville Police Department will release additional details at their discretion.
