A search is underway for a climber missing since Saturday on Mount Rainier’s Liberty Ridge. Matthew Bunker of Seattle is the third person to go missing over the past week while hiking or climbing in Mount Rainier National Park.

Matthew Bunker was found dead Monday in a crevasse at the base of a cliff by search helicopters and climbing rangers. The 28-year-old from Seattle had been skiing at the 10,400 foot elevation on the mountain when he fell on steep terrain.
More details have not been released about this death, and actual death age and date are yet to confirmed by us. We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
