In 1983, Miloš Říha was drafted by Minnesota from the 196th position (among others, a few places ahead of Hašek, Makarov or Krupp). There must have been a lot of surprises at the union when GM Lou Nanne announced in a year that he would like to release him to the NHL, together with Oldřich Válek and Dušan Pašek.
