Fahd Al-Mufarrej, Executive Director of Football at Al-Hilal Club, expressed his dissatisfaction with the arbitral decisions of referee Majed Al-Shamrani, and his failure to go to the VAR during the match that Al-Zaeem lost to Al-Shabab (3-0), yesterday, Friday, in the 22nd round of the Saudi Professional League.

He added, in statements to the “Action with Walid” program: In Al-Shabab’s first goal, there was a penalty kick that was not counted. The VAR referee did not call the referee. We asked the referee and he confirmed that the video referee did not summon him to watch it.

And he continued: “The fourth referee confirmed to Saud Kariri that he watched the hand touch, in the second goal for Al-Shabab, and informed the referee of the arena .. The match referee assured me, in turn, that the VAR referee did not call him in the penalty kick shot, before Al-Shabab’s first goal.”

And he added, "The appointment of the referee, Majed Al-Shamrani, we did not know about him except on the field, and the match made serious mistakes, especially in the first and second goals of Al-Shabab. We want to hear clarifications of what happened against Al-Shabab."

Al-Mufarrej referred to news that was circulated that Al-Hilal was consulted regarding its schedule before the final of the Asian Championship, denying the validity of this news and adding: This did not happen, and we were never consulted about the schedule of the local league matches…. “And every team we face is more comfortable than us, Within a week, we play 3 matches.. And do not tell me this is the tax of competition. Is this the reward for someone who represents you strongly in international forums?

Al-Mufarrej expressed his surprise at what happened, describing it as strange, adding: It was as if the goal was to keep Al-Hilal away from the competition. He asked: Is this a punishment for Al-Hilal for asking for foreign rulers?
