With heavy hearts, we the staff of the Levy County Property Appraiser’s office mourn the loss of our leader, mentor and friend, Oz Barker. Oz came into office with a desire to better serve the citizens of Levy County. He loved this county, its citizens and always desired to make the right decisions that would best serve the people of Levy County. He never took a decision lightly and would always consult his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for guidance. We appreciate the calls, emails and text messages offering love and condolences to us all. We ask that you continue to pray for peace and comfort for his family and wife Lori.
Oz is such a precious man, loved and respected by many, and he will be greatly missed here on Earth. I know he’s enjoying his endless day in paradise. Sending love to his precious family, and his other friends, whose hearts are also broken.

He was one of the first friends I made when starting with Levy County. I was really looking forward to many more years working together. Prayers to his family of who he talked so highly of. You will be missed sir.
Our first encounter with Mr Oz was employment. He employed my husband when we first came to pastor in Chiefland. The church could not afford a full time minister so Mr Oz gave him a job to compensate. My husband became very fond of him and we were so appreciative of his generosity. Even though we are saddened because we no longer see him physically, I’m sure he is having an amazing time in his glorified body!!
