Know the true factors that determines your destiny.
1-Know yourself- Somtime in 1998 a family friend, ud by name took 3 of my elder sisters, Joyce, Jane and Stella and other family friends to his aunt’s buriel in his village. Somewhere along the line during the burial the chief mourner (the husband of the deceased) ran out of cash and there were items that they needed to pay for as it had already been delivered. When the oldman complained he had no more money, his children were incensed “how can he say there is no money even when the money given to him will Cather for the burial” they went to him and asked for more money, but he insisted there no more money,they had to call an emergency meeting with their fathers brothers,telling them to tell their brother(their own father to bring out money),when his brothers asked him to bring more money, he said what he has left is dollars(the money his first son who resides in Spain gave him contained the newly introduced N1000 note, and that was what he called Dollar.) after much argument about the money, the family had to call the first son in Spain and asked him to order his father to bring out the money. The son called and appealed to the father to release the money, the father still insisted that the money was dollar(by this time he thought that his son had connived with the others to dupe him of his precious dollar ) after much persuasion, he brought out the money on the condition that they will go and change it to naira, the son agreed with him that the other children will go and change it. After he brought out the money they just went and changed it to N200 notes which he was familiar with.
Lets examine the case at hand-he had money, he needed to pay bill but he didn’t know the value of the money he had.
Ignorance is a crime against the self and humanity.
2-know yourself part 2
The great men of yore once admonished everyone to know himself. Some went as far as putting signpost that read “man know thyself” in front of important building or sacred temples.
There is a great reservoir of energy of strength in you. If you must play an important role to humanity then you will need to understand yourself to the fullest.
Exercise 1
On a fresh page in your workbook.
Write down everything you know how to do very well, eg singing, dancing, playing, reading, talking, teaching anything…anything just name it, even if it doesn’t make much sense to you now, just write it down.
You may need some quietude to glean out more about yourself.
-examine yourself, your future to note what you will like to be known for, something you stand for.
Create a list of virtues or qualities you need to achieve what you want to achieve.
Now cross check your list of strength, qualities and what you want to do, you may find qualities that are instrumental to each other.
Eg, You may want to be a writer and you find out now, you read a lot…these two are complimentary.
Sometimes you may see that what you want to be is farfetched hence you may think that you will not be able to achieve it………..in this, i will say you ignore the end first and take the first step followed by the second step, remember the mind of man has not dreamt impossibility…..you can actually achieve all you set your mind to.
3- A casual note important to the process
In life you must understand that the word impossibility exists only in the mind of a pessimist……nothing is impossible to those who have faith. Take a look around you, everything you see was once considered impossible, let’s take a walk back to time, if as at 500yrs BC, you told anybody that someday a thing made of iron will carry over 1000 people and fly in the air ,or you told them that one day somebody will hold something close to his ear press buttons and speak with another person miles from him, or you preached that someday it will be possible for the poor in the society to have books or library or talked about television or radio……..what do you think will happen to you if you dared did any of the above. Most probably they will take you to a chief priest to exorcise you of the devil in you. Everything you see was once considered impossible, that which is considered impossible is only waiting for a fertile mind to come and actualise it, the world waited for millennia for Marconi to come and give us radio, the world waited for thousands of years for Edison to come and light our night, are we going to still impede our own progress even when we have seen the wonders of science and technology.
Life has shown that, a mans work is the avenue thru which divine influx activates and brightens creation. when a man’s work gives him satisfaction then, his enthusiasm flows and let note something here, enthusiasm came from a Greek word that means a God inspired action that being filled with the power of a God. Religion makes us to appreciate the fact that we have an image in us, an image that can never fail. if you must be sucexful then you may appreciate the fact that greater is the strength in you than in the world. life is made of the visible and the invisible with the invisible greater than the visible hence the things that issue from your mind can transcend anything you have seen.
You are the light of the world, d salt of the earth ,a city on a hill that cannot be broken nor hidden from the view of the world.
Just as the suns magnetic gravity holds planets in place so also can and will your mind attract and hold in place all that you need for the achievement if the best in you.
4-know yourself part 4
The process of understanding and knowing yourself is a lifelong process that takes one into many facets of life. In this capacity the knowledge of your temperament and your personality is very crucial to your overall sucex.
Temperament being a delicate issue which like we said is a lifelong adventure, we cannot cram all about temperament in one small article, we will do well to place minor tips as we go on the journey of sucex.
Note: The knowledge of temperament is one that covers a vast area, you will find many books dealing with temperament in the market, some books on personality divides human personality into 16, others divide it into as much as 24. After comparing many books, i find the book ‘why u think act the way you do’ by john b Oldham and Louise Morison to be the best in the area of personality while i will recommend ‘why you act the way you do’ by Tim Lahaye to be a good one on the subject of temperament. There may other books which are more excellent but in the absence of those, these will do you good.
5-the beginning of your greatness
Every greatness starts with a dream, a vision, an aspiration, a goal or however you may chose to call it.
As chance or luck dose not exist in creation, everything including sucex is a product of effort.
Effort born from a determination to achieve set goals.
Note: don’t build your goals on the acquisition of money or material vanity, money no doubt is important to ones wellbeing but money is a means to a end, once you money is made an end which you must achieve then humanity has a lot to suffer from you in the near future.

-Write out the vision u hope to achieve.
-plan your life up to the end of your existence, if you hope to live up to 100yrs then plan up to 100,if you intend to live to 120 then do so(in my own planin, i wrote my ages on one side of d book and wrote the achievement on the opposite side of it).
Life is not without a fair share of challenge, the greater your vision the greater may be the challenges you will experience.
6- True determinants of your destiny.
Sometimes in life some of us bank on many external factors as the determinants of our destiny. Factors like zodiac/link dis to the article on zodiac/ signs, numerology, fate, priest craft and many more.
A great truth is that no external power can help the man with the wrong attitude just as the universe will conspire to aid you achieve the nobility in you. your thought is the greatest weapon you have to use in fashioning out your destiny, you are created with the ‘mind stuff’ from which the universe fashioned herself hence you are a free agent in creation capable to making the universe a better place irrespective of her condition.
Yes no doubt, there is an influence which celestial or planetary bodies have on us, like the moon and tides and some other influences but man is part of the cosmic hence he has a say in the affairs of his life, we are not and cannot be puppets of blind and arbitrary forces. supreme is the observation of the self to know the ones own cycles. There are circles operational in every manifest matter be it a human being, a market a school or whatever. Every system including the human being has an operational circles and periods of highs and lows. Part of mans greatness is the mastery of this circles.
A manager friend of mine once told me that his Thursdays determine how his week till the nest Thursday will look like, he said, if he is broke on a Thursday in most cases he will be broke till the next Thursday. In my life, I have come to understand that my Wednesdays are the most disruptive day of my week so i don’t fix anything important especially intellectual work for Wednesdays, in some cases on Wednesdays am filled with an enormous amount of energy that makes me outperform my limits, i do everything too fast even i don’t get tired physically, it is me who will work and at a point i will tell myself to rest because i feel i have exceeded my limits. Also i have noticed that my Thursdays are good for my intellectual work or brainstorming.
some feel better to read at night before sleep and others will better to wake up early in the morning to read.
When i started my writing carrier, i found it difficult to write during the day, especially if the stuff am writing is motivational…..dat was over 8 years ago, today i can write anytime. Mans destiny is the mastery of nature or creation, every challenge we face is a teacher on the path of self mastery, the key to life is in understanding yourself(including your personal and unique circles ) and mastering them so they become your servant and not your master.
