Ralph Barbieri Death – Dead | Passed Away – Obituary

Ralph Barbieri Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Ralph Barbieri.

RIP Razor.

I grew up listening to the guy Crying face.

Loved the way he conducted interviews and his chemistry with
@byronjr23
was exceptional.

Ralph Barbieri, KNBR’s ‘Razor,’ dies at 74 after battle with Parkinson’s

RIP Ralph Barbieri. He entertained me when I was
@StIgnatius
. I used to do my homework while listening to his
@KNBR
show. He inspired me to pursue this career. We became co-workers in 1997, and friends soon thereafter. Ralph was my professional role model and he was a kind soul.

Ralph Barbieri died Monday at age 74. This was the last interview Ralph ever did, and it was classic Razor — blunt, thoughtful and utterly on his own terms. RIP, Ralph

The Razor was a one of a kind. It was a privilege to sit across the glass from Ralph Barbieri and Tom Tolbert doing afternoon updates on KNBR for several years, at the peak of their great show. It’s an era that won’t be replicated. My heartfelt condolences to Ralph’s family.

I am extremely saddened by the passing of Ralph Barbieri. I have fond memories of Ralph and I visiting at the ballpark- never missing a chance to pull each other’s leg. He loved to give me a hard time and you better believe I gave it right back.
Ralph would bring his son Tayte to the ballpark as a little boy and I’d take him in the clubhouse to play. Our conversations were less about baseball and more about life and fatherhood. There was nothing Ralph loved more than being a dad.
Today the Bay Area lost a radio legend, but I lost a friend.

Rest in peace, Ralph Barbieri. He made sports talk what it was here in the Bay Area. The interviews with Sabean, his raspy voice – there was no one like him, and there will never be no one like him. The Razor is an absolute legend. Rest easy…

Very sad to hear Ralph Barbieri died.

Here’s a 2012 tribute I wrote, after he left KNBR. It starts w/ a criticism or two but that was part of the bigger package.

Ralph set a thoughtful & personal tone for local sports talk. We’re still benefitting. #RIP

‪Rest In Peace to a KNBR legend and one of the true pioneers in #BayArea sports talk radio. Ralph Barbieri, you were a great friend and I appreciated you teaching me the tricks of the trade that has been instrumental to me to this very day. ‬Watching you work really changed the way I viewed this industry.
