Sadly, we remember a great theoretical physicist, Roberto Peccei, who died on June 2. Professor emeritus at @UCLA, he was awarded J.J. Sakurai from @APSphysics for his theory where a candidate for dark matter appears: the axion. Our condolences

We at the IFT are sad for the passing of Prof. Roberto Peccei, from @UCLA. We recall his many contributions in theoretical #particlephysics, especially in flavor physics, and his proposal (with Helen Quinn) to solve the strong CP problem via a new global symmetry.
